Teacher of the Month
How long have you been a teacher? This is my 10th year in the classroom.
How long have you been at your current school and what grade do you teach? I have been at Forestbrook Elementary for 10 years. I currently teach second grade.
What led you into teaching and what continues to motivate you? I have always loved working with children. When I was younger, I used to love playing school. Building relationships with my students and their families is what continues to motivate me.
What was your reaction to winning the award? I was completely shocked, and it brought me to tears. I was very excited!
What was the reaction of your class? My kids were so happy for me and excited to get a prize as well! They kept congratulating me the rest of the day.
Have you been to Sky Zone before? If so, what was your experience like? I have never been to Sky Zone, but I am excited to give it a try.
What do you find most rewarding about being a teacher? The most rewarding thing about being a teacher is building relationships with students and having them come back and visit year after year.
Outside of the classroom, what are some of your interests? Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my son and husband. We love fishing and anything else outdoors that we can do together. I also love animals. I have four dogs and three cats.
