Trampoline Games: Keeping Kids Engaged and Entertained

There are few things better for kids’ development than participating in team sports or group activities. Getting kids to collaborate in a cooperative game builds social skills, develops problem-solving and critical-thinking processes, creates a general sense of belonging, and provides opportunities for them to practice leadership skills. Depending on the type of game or activity being played, these skills are just the tip of the iceberg. At Sky Zone, we help kids develop these integral skills through the power of play! If you’re interested in some games for a trampoline that your kids can play with their friends, take a closer look at the best trampoline games you’ll find at Sky Zone.

Sky Zone’s Air Court

The Air Court is a multi-use court designed to elevate games for a trampoline — with a bouncy bonus. The Air Court is an enclosed air-filled court where participants can play basketball, soccer, volleyball, dodgeball, and more. The extra boost from the Air Court takes these traditional games to the next level of fun. The Air Court is suitable for Little Leapers (kids ages 5 and under) and is a great space for open play.

Using the Air Court for Basketball

When using the Air Court for basketball, participants will divide into two teams (preferably evenly among skill levels and ages) and face off against each other. Kids can make slam dunks and take jump shots at the hoop. Air Court basketball is a highly collaborative trampoline game since the court is smaller than a traditional basketball court.

Using the Air Court for Soccer

Depending on the Sky Zone you visit, the Air Court may be configured with soccer goals. To use the Air Court for soccer, divide participants into two teams as in traditional soccer. The Air Court makes soccer one of the most fun trampoline games at Sky Zone, as the ball bounces all over the court. Teamwork and communication will be the name of the game as kids participate in this bouncy rendition of soccer.

No matter which trampoline activities your kids are participating in, you can use these games to help your kids develop sportsmanship, social interaction, and problem-solving by watching and engaging with them on the sidelines. Parents can play a role in this development by respecting any rules from the Court Monitors, providing moral support for kids to do well, and encouraging teamwork when the kids pass the ball during the trampoline game. If your kids are looking for fun games for a trampoline, the Air Court is the perfect space for creative play.

Sky Zone’s Ultimate Dodgeball

Ultimate Dodgeball is one of many iconic games for a trampoline at Sky Zone — it’s one of the most popular highlights of the Sky Zone experience. Ultimate Dodgeball starts with two teams, typically divided by either the court monitor or among the players. The game works on traditional dodgeball rules. In Ultimate Dodgeball, there are 5 balls in the neutral zone that divide the arena into two sides.

When the game starts, players will race to retrieve the balls from the neutral zone and proceed to get the opposing team out by tagging them with the ball. Players have to throw the balls from their side only and cannot pass the neutral zone. When players are tagged out, their remaining teammates can bring them back into the game if they catch a live ball. Balls are considered “live” when it has not touched the ground or sides of the arena. If a ball touches the ground or sides of the arena first, then it becomes a “dead” ball. If a player is hit with a dead ball, the player is still in the game. What makes Ultimate Dodgeball unique is that players get a jump boost to avoid balls from opposing players.

For kids, there are few better ways to foster teamwork, communication, and collaboration than playing Ultimate Dodgeball at Sky Zone. As the game progresses, communicating who is out on the friendly team can help others determine their strategy. Figuring out who to target on the opposing team creates coordination and improves problem-solving for your kids. As parents, it’s important to encourage teamwork as your kids participate in Ultimate Dodgeball and, no matter which side wins or loses, practice good sportsmanship and respect.

Sky Zone’s Sky Slam

Whether you play on a team or practice your slam dunk solo, the Sky Slam is one of the standout trampoline activities at Sky Zone. It’s a great way for kids to practice their development and coordination skills. In Sky Slam, there is a lane with a basketball hoop at the end. The Sky Slam lane has a trampoline floor to give jumpers the opportunity to jump like a real NBA superstar or practice their best tricks. The Sky Slam has multiple padded hoops at different levels for jumpers of all ages.

For parents, participating in this attraction is a great way to encourage taking turns among kids. With Sky Slam, parents can teach kids that everyone deserves a chance to play. This fosters fairness and respect among the participants, which develops into greater social skills later on in life. Participating in Sky Slam also inspires physical activity in young children, which is critical for their overall development as they grow. Physically strenuous activities strengthen bone density and improve muscular development, so keep your kids active with this high-flying, slam-dunking favorite.
